CR North’s Debate team competes in the Southeastern PA Debate League, which is comprised of both Bucks and Montgomery county schools. We also compete in various National and Catholic League Tournaments. Members of the team may choose between debate and speech events.
There are 5 forms of forensics to choose from: Congress, Policy, Public Forum, Lincoln Douglas, and Speech – with Speech having 2 separate sub-categories. Tournaments are held mostly on Wednesdays and on various weekends, which is dependent upon NFL or NCFL dates. Practices are regularly scheduled for Tuesdays evenings and are currently being held virtually. The season runs September – June.

Hi! My name is Kara Grossman and I am a senior. I have been public relations for the speech and debate team since my sophomore season, and I am now the head PR position. I am ranked 17th in the nation for Program Oral Interpretation and I am also champion of numerous tournaments. Since Freshman year, I’ve also competed in Impromptu, Extemp, and Oral Interp. I love speech and debate because it has given me countless speaking skills while allowing me to have freedom over my performance each year.
